Sophie’s Vision and Mision

"If at first, the idea is not absurd, there's no hope for it."
                                                                                                                                  - Albert Einstein

I Have a Dream is the title of Martin Luther King's most famous speech, which he delivered at the culmination of his 1963 March on Washington.  As US Congressman John Lewis, who also spoke that day as head of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, said: "By speaking the way he did, he educated, he inspired, he informed not just the people there, but people throughout America and unborn generations." [2]

Who would have thought then that 45 years later, Barack Obama would become the first African-American President of the United States?

I also have a dream for a better world, which I first shared publicly in November 2009 at the Ottawa “3-I” Summit - Imagine/Interact/Inspire, when I was asked to outline my vision for Ottawa in 2049.

Sophie’s Vision

Laughter Capital is the embodiment of my vision for Canada's Capital; to make Ottawa not only the National Capital and Capital of Seriousness, but also the Capital of Laughter!

I envision Ottawa as a place where all leaders, professionals, politicians, and workers feel free, able, and keen to speak their heart and mind; a place where business people can promote a positive work environment of hope, optimism, and enthusiasm; a place where leaders can help foster a happy, healthy, and energetic workforce.

Sophie’s Mission

"There is a time to be serious, of course. But too much sobriety can be bad for a career and worse for general well-being."
                                                                                                 - Daniel Pink

My mission is to help leaders, professionals, and politicians to make Ottawa a better place to work – a place where we will continue working hard – with a welcome twist; laughing more to work better! I want Ottawa to start laughing for excellence and for optimal physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. I want the people of Ottawa to learn how they too can increase their laughter capital and reap the wonderful dividends of Laughter for no Reason right now!

It took a little more than 40 years to make Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream a reality. Let's start Spreading Joy One Laugh at a Time, right now to make Ottawa the Laughter Capital.
